FINE ART Portraiture
THE CONCEPT
Every portrait begins the same way: we make photographs together, using controlled light and direction, until they feel like you. Afterward, you choose how to keep them, as a Portrait Folio Box, a Painted Edition, a hand painted oil portrait, or a digital collection.
THE WORK
Every piece below started the same way, with a portrait photographed specifically for that person.
The Process
From Portrait to Finished Work
1. Consultation
We start with a conversation.
We'll talk about what you want the portraits to feel like, where we'd like to make them, and what you are hoping to create. You don't need to know exactly what you want before we begin. That's part of what the consultation is for.
If you're considering a Painted Edition or oil portrait, we'll talk through those possibilities as well.
2. The Portrait
The portrait is photographed on location, using controlled lighting that I build specifically for the space.
The location doesn't have to be a photography studio. It might be your home, a private space, a rented location, or somewhere we've chosen specifically for the photographs.
The goal is simple: create the strongest portrait possible.
For portraits of female clients, a professional hair and makeup artist is present throughout the appointment. This is part of how I work and part of the experience I want every client to have.
3. Choose Your Outcome
Once the photographs are finished, we'll meet in person to look through the work together.
This is where the possibilities become tangible.
You can choose a curated Portrait Folio Box of prints, commission a hand painted oil portrait, select a Painted Edition, keep the finished portraits as a digital collection, or combine them.
There is no need to decide everything before we photograph you.
4. The Finished Piece
Your chosen work is then completed and delivered. Portrait Folio Box prints are produced on fine art photographic paper and presented together in a custom box. Oil portraits are painted by hand in my studio and typically take four to six weeks to complete. Painted Editions are produced as fine art prints. Digital images are delivered electronically.
THE OUTCOMES
Portrait Folio Box Collection
For those who want to hold the work in their hands.
A curated collection of photographic prints from your portrait experience, presented together in a custom print box. Every print in the box includes its matching high resolution digital file.
Folio Boxes are available in a range of materials and finishes, which we'll go over together during your consultation.
Starting at $450

Hand Painted Oil Portrait
For a portrait that becomes an original work of art.
Every oil portrait begins with a directed photographic appointment. I use those photographs as the foundation for a painting built layer by layer in oil.
The goal isn't simply to reproduce a photograph. It's to create a physical record of a particular person, at a particular point in their life.
Each commission is painted by hand and made individually. I accept a limited number of oil portraits each year.
Starting at $3,000

Painted Edition
A photograph transformed into something that feels much closer to a painting.
Each image is individually worked by hand in post production, using texture, brushwork, and color treatment to create a piece that sits somewhere between photography and traditional painting. Printed on fine art paper, each Painted Edition is made to be framed and lived with.
Starting at $750
Digital Collection
For those who want the photographs themselves.
Your finished portraits are carefully edited and delivered as high resolution digital files, ready to print, share, and keep.
Starting at $375

WHAT'S INCLUDED
A Portrait Experience Built Around You
Every portrait begins with a $300 sitting fee. It covers:
-
A private consultation to plan the portrait together
-
Up to three hours of photography with lighting built for your portrait
-
An in person reveal, where we look through the finished photographs and decide how you’d like to keep them
The sitting fee is the same whichever outcome you choose afterward. Finished work, including prints, folio boxes, Painted Editions, and oil portraits, is purchased separately at the reveal.
For portraits of women, a professional female hair and makeup artist is present throughout the session as part of the experience.
Only when it applies: a trip fee for locations more than one hour from Greenville, and the cost of a rented space if your portrait needs one, which I select and arrange with you and pass along at the rate I pay.
MORE ABOUT THE LOCATION
Photographed Where It Makes Sense
A portrait doesn’t need a traditional studio to feel considered. It can happen in a beautiful home, a quiet hotel, a private rental, or a creative space chosen for the way it looks. I bring the lighting and equipment to build the look, and the location gives the portrait its character.
If you’d rather have a dedicated setting, I’ll arrange a suitable rented space with you.
Sessions are available in Greenville now and in Savannah from January 2027, and I travel for clients farther out.
REACH OUT
If you're interested in having a portrait made, start with a conversation.
We'll talk about what you're looking for, where we'd make it, and what you might want to create from the photographs.
You don't have to know whether you want a photograph, a Painted Edition, or an oil portrait yet.
We'll figure that part out together.
